Theresa Beck

Mrs. Theresa is an integral part of Remnant Church.  She pours into everyone, not only women.  She changed Pastor Jonathon’s ministry, teaching him, praying for him, advising him.  Remnant Church would not be what it is without her.  You can always count on her for prayer, a hug, council, or just to cry on.  She is a pillar not only in church, but in the community.

She was born in Lawrence County to a loving mom and had wonderful grandparents living in the country.  She and her younger sister spent many days there as her mom worked hard to provide for them.  They were raised in church, and there’s not a time she doesn’t remember knowing Jesus.  She knew He was good, but never knew if SHE was good enough to have Him.

She has three daughters, one of which had been praying for her since 9th grade after being saved at FCA camp.  She invited her and her late husband, James, to be at church with them on Father’s Day in Decatur, AL.  The Heavenly Father made Himself known to her on that day with so much love, she was delivered from a year of panic, fear, and “what ifs”.  From that day on, she began to search for all His promises and SET herself to believe, act on them, and tell as many people as she could that they could have that too.

In 1996, the Lord called her to begin a mentoring program at her childhood church.  The schools let her come have lunch with children.  The courts let her into Juvenile Court to talk with those who would.  She could not talk about Jesus there, but she could be His love.  After 10 years and many volunteers helping, the program was asked to change to one on one mentoring at school lunches with referred children.  Mentors were trained to match with these children and that system remains to this day

She had prayed to the Lord for a body of believers and see signs and wonders follow the Word preached as in Mark 16.  In 2019, He answered that prayer joining Jonathon & Cassie in ministry at Oak Hill, then going on with them; many believers, many healings, many miracles have come and more are on the way!

Now, we are Remnant Church, praying, growing, and maturing together.  Looking for God’s Promises to come to pass.  They belong to us all through Jesus Christ!
